THE RELATIONSHIP
SELECTED FROM 80. TRUSTED WITH THE MOST CRITICAL FREIGHT IN TECH.

The client is a global holding company that owns and operates the manufacturers behind critical data center infrastructure. From cooling systems and computer room air handlers to power management equipment and switchgear. Their end customers include the world’s largest hyperscalers and major colocation providers driving the buildout of AI infrastructure.

Star Logistics solicited the relationship and went through a rigorous, 9-month vetting process. The client onboarded approximately 80 carriers and brokers, narrowed the field to 50 through interviews, then required finalists to present a white paper in response to a case study-style brief. Star Logistics was one of three providers selected.

The differentiator that won the business: cross-border open deck capability in Mexico. The client’s two largest manufacturing facilities are in northern Mexico, and they were struggling to find capacity that could handle oversized, specialized freight across the border at the pace their growth demanded.

THE CHALLENGE
HIGH-STAKES FREIGHT. LOW LEAD TIMES. NO MARGIN FOR ERROR.

The client’s logistics needs are unlike standard freight. They’re delivering to active job sites, data centers under construction, where a missed window doesn’t just mean a delayed shipment. It means a missed SLA, deferred revenue, and downstream penalties with some of the most demanding customers in the world.

Their freight is oversized and permitted. Their lanes cross international borders. Their volume is project-based and unpredictable, with surges at month and quarter-end that can spike demand overnight. And their manufacturing footprint, growing at a rapid, sustained pace with revenue projected to reach the billions, means the complexity only increases.

They needed a carrier who could keep up.

THE SOLUTION
ONE PROVIDER. THREE COUNTRIES. ANY SURGE.

Star Logistics serves the client as a specialized carrier, focused exclusively on open deck and oversized, permitted loads across the US, Mexico, and Canada. The solution isn’t one-size-fits-all; it’s built around where the client’s needs are at any given moment.

CROSS-BORDER THROUGH-TRAILER SERVICE

Door-to-door service from Mexico to Canada, same trailer, no transloading at the border. A rare capability for open deck and oversized freight.

OPEN DECK & OVERSIZED EXPERTISE

Specialized permitted loads across the US, Mexico, and Canada, including oversized cross-border shipments from the client’s Mexico manufacturing facility, a nuance capability with few providers in the market.

MONTH & QUARTER-END SURGE SUPPORT

Star Logistics stages trailers at a US border point, crosses them into Mexico, and queues pickups to execute up to 20 loads per day during critical SLA windows, a single-source solution no competitor has matched.

ON-DEMAND, LOW LEAD TIME EXECUTION

Tenders in the morning, freight picked up by afternoon. Star Logistics operates as an on-call logistics partner ready for same-day and 12-hour lead time requests.

THE RESULTS
OUTPERFORMING THE FIELD SINCE DAY ONE

Since being onboarded alongside two other providers, Star Logistics has consistently outperformed its peers in service, capacity, and responsiveness. No other carrier has been able to replicate Star Logistics’ single-source surge execution out of the client’s Mexico facility.

Mexico Facility Output: 30 to 50 loads per week on a consistent basis, serving leading hyperscalers’ data center builds across North America.

Month-End Surge: Up to 20 loads per day from the client’s Mexico facility during SLA-critical periods — a volume no single competitor has matched.

Seamless Cross-Border Execution: Through-trailer service from Mexico to Canada with in-bond US staging, eliminating transloading and protecting oversized freight integrity across borders.

Three-Country Coverage: US, Mexico, and Canada, open deck and oversized, under one provider relationship.

Top Cohort Performer: Of the three carriers selected from the original field of 80, Star Logistics is exceeding performance benchmarks across the board.

WHY STAR LOGISTICS
SPECIALIZED EXPERTISE. ON-DEMAND RELIABILITY.

What sets Star Logistics apart for this client isn’t just the capability, it’s the consistency. Same-day tenders. Staged trailers waiting at the border. A team that understands how to work alongside hyperscalers and deliver to active construction sites under tight SLAs.

As the client continues to scale, adding manufacturing facilities, expanding product lines, and serving an ever-growing roster of data center customers, Star Logistics is positioned as the logistics partner that grows with them.
