Covenant driver Nick Barboza receives prestigious Driver of the Year Award

Covenant is proud to celebrate driver Nick Barboza, who was named DMC Insurance's 2026 Driver of the Year. Covenant also congratulates fellow driver Harrison Harville, who was recognized as one of five finalists for the same award.

Nick, who has spent 28 years with Covenant and accumulated more than 3.5 million accident free miles, was honored during a special appreciation event hosted by DMC Insurance at Covenant's Chattanooga headquarters this July. Nick's family, friends, and colleagues joined Covenant leadership and the DMC team to celebrate his career and his impact on the company.

"Nick reflects the very best of the transportation industry: hard work, loyalty, faith, generosity, and a genuine desire to lift others up," said Lathen Whited, VP of Enterprise Retention at Covenant Logistics. "His story is not only remarkable, but also an example for all to follow."

Nick's accomplishments include Covenant's elite 120 Club recognition for 3 million consecutive accident free miles, Covenant's 2025 Professional Trainer of the Year award, and TCA's 2025 Professional Driver of the Year honor. As one of Covenant's most dedicated trainers, Nick has personally mentored more than 650 new drivers, helping each one launch a career in trucking.

Covenant also congratulates Harrison Harville on being named a top 5 finalist for DMC's 2026 Driver of the Year. Harrison's nomination reflects the same commitment to safety, professionalism, and service that defines Covenant's driving team, and the company is proud to see his work recognized on this stage.

As part of the celebration, DMC Insurance presented both Covenant and Nick with $1,000 to direct to an organization of their choosing, a gesture Covenant is grateful for and proud to pay forward.

"It's the best decision we ever made," said David Parker, Covenant's CEO, reflecting on the choice to bring Nick on board nearly three decades ago.

We thank DMC Insurance for having a celebration that gave the entire Covenant family a chance to honor Nick's career and legacy, and for the generosity shown to both Nick and Covenant through their donation. Covenant is proud to call Nick and Harrison part of its driving team and grateful for everything they represent, on and off the road.
