Covenant was named a 2021 “Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation” by Redefining the Road, the official magazine of the Women in Trucking Association (WIT).

Women are represented throughout our enterprise, including our Board of Directors, EVPs, SVPs, VPs, frontline leadership, professional drivers and the shop. Having a strong presence of women in leadership sets the stage to continue to promote and grow women in careers at Covenant.

“We are fortunate to have strong and successful women in every segment of our Covenant enterprise who use their gifts to empower others in the workplace,” Joey Ballard, SVP of Enterprise Talent Management, said. “Gifts like passion, logic, decisiveness, emotional connection, confidence and empathy can be seen and felt throughout our organization. I am personally grateful to work with so many women both at Covenant and throughout the industry that are supportive of each other. We are grateful to receive this award and we are blessed to have women throughout our company who embody our culture and drive our company forward!”

Covenant offers tuition reimbursement, parental leave and promotes wellness credit opportunities for female health screenings. Additionally, Covenant’s diversity initiatives and “Women of Covenant” group invite our women and professional drivers to continue growth together.

Key features that distinguish companies recognized on this list from WIT include a corporate culture which fosters gender diversity; competitive compensation and benefits; flexible hours and work requirements; professional development opportunities and career advancement opportunities. Once our nomination was evaluated based upon these criteria, it was validated by an industry-wide vote involving nearly 15,000 professionals in transportation – including executive management, operations and HR/talent management executives and professional drivers.
